On Thursday, Noida Authority has said that it will take strict action on all those builders and developers who will fail to meet the deadline to deliver flats given by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath. This year, in the month of September, CM Yogi Adityanath has made a three-member committee to ensure and look into this matter.
The authority is liable to take stern actions on the builder’s Section 40 of the Industrial Development Act 1976, according to which the authority has right to recover all its pending dues by attaching the properties allotted by it. With this, the authority can seal and attach the property along with issuing recovering certificates.
As per the meetings held in September 2017 between the builders and Noida Authority, those builders who are responsible for the construction of some 32 projects have to hand over the keys to their respective homebuyers. To fast-track this process, Noida Authority had even cleared somewhere around 2334 flat until 11th September 2017. Also, in the month of October, it has cleared and offered completion certificate to three housing societies having approximately 1564 flats in it.
Apart from this, 20 projects with a number of 2166 flats are in the final stage of completion by the end of this month while another set of 3249 flats is set to be completed by the end of December 2017. The builders have promised to deliver and hand over around 10,756 flats to the home buyers by the end of this year.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has already said not to show any leniency to the builders if they fail to fulfil their commitment. And hence, the authority is also ready to take strict actions on the defaulter, if needed.
Additional CEO of the Noida Authority, AK Rai has said, “We had been asked to give builders of all pending projects an ultimatum that if they fail to deliver as per schedule. Stringent action is on the cards for them and we will not shy away from that”.
